  • I hate to say this but the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) is over-reacting to Dolphy's newest comedy flick, Fr. Jejemon.

They particularly focused on two scenes where Fr. Jejemon drops a host between the cleavage of a catholic faithful?

What is wrong with the scene?

1.) that Fr. Jejemon lost the host to a faithful's cleavage?
2.) that Fr. Jejemon looked at the host that fell on a faithful's cleavage?
3.) that Fr. Jejemon looked at the faithful's cleavage?
4.) that Fr. Jejemon allowed a faithful, whose cleavage was exposed, to take the holy communion?

Jaro Archbishop Angel Lagdameo argues that 'they are negative, the movie does not give a good reflection on the priesthood.”

So in the eyes of Bishop Lagdameo, the entire movie is flawed.

Dear Bishops, the freaking Fr. Jejemon movie is a COMEDY flick. And with Dolphy starring in it, it can only be slapstick comedy, a type of comedy that 'exceed the boundaries of common sense.' What do you expect from King of Comedy?

The more worrying theme of the CBCP's reaction is this --- there is a limit to commentary on them and the Church. Even by the Catholic faithful. And that is not funny.
